Bone replacement for my wisdom teeth is it neccessary?

I’m planning on having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out and they mentioned about a fake bone to replace the wisdom teeth ? Is this neccessary? they said it’s more of a preference thing, is this true? I need really need details for this question please, I’m 19 and will be paying for this with my own money and each one costs 150 and my insurance doesn’t cover it. But if it is needed I wouldn’t mind having to work something out financially.
