Getting Dentures After Extraction

Dentures, teeth extraction and lots of advice needed!!?

I had a massive phobia of the dentist for ten years, well yesterday I went in. I was told by my very kind dentist I was need 15 teeth extracted over the next month, scary stuff, so in two weeks it starts, my first appointment I’ll have 3 out a week later another three, then 5 a week later and the rest 3 days later. Then I’m having false teeth in, also scary. How long after the last teeth are extracted will I get my false teeth? And any advice for the pain of having five teeth out at once???

Please help!! Just a tad scared!

I agree with Grandpa Walleye to a point. The Oral Surgeon is a lot more expensive. Any Dentist worth his salt can extract 15 teeth and slap a denture over them. They call that an immediate Denture.

I would get them all out at once and get the immediate denture. Why drag the pain out so long? As for anesthesia, why bother? If it hurts when they are pulling them, ask for more Novocaine. That’s why they call it painless dentistry. The pain comes AFTER they are pulled. Putting a denture over the fresh sockets cover and protect them from getting food in them and seems to help with the pain. You will need Vicodins or something for a week or so. The pain will be A LOT better in a week and almost gone in 2 weeks..

I would never stretch the pain out for weeks on end. Get em all out at the same time and be done with it. I had 11 teeth pulled at once and got an immediate. The only problem with an immediate is that it will need to be relined in about 6 months. No pain involved.
