The advantage is you will be replacing missing teeth and it is usually somewhat less expensive than other treatments.
Disadvantage is that you are taking a one tooth problem and making it a 3 (or more) tooth solution. The teeth on either side of the bridge must be prepared for the crowns (abutments). This may be ok if these teeth needed crowns but if they didn’t, you’re altering a tooth that may not need treatment. Also, they are somewhat cumbersome to keep clean. They will probably need to be replaced in your lifetime, depending on your age. Average is 7-10 years but I’ve seen some fail in as little as 2 years and some that lasted 50 years!
Have you done any research on implants? They are a great way to replace missing teeth without affecting other teeth. They are a little more expensive than fixed bridges but once they’re done, they will not have to be replaced. The crown attached to it may have to be replaced if something traumatic happened (like the porcelain chipped off).
