Do I have to be a dentist to make dentures?

October 14th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

I love doing special effects makeup and want to go to college for it but, unfortunately where I live isn’t exactly the best place for the field. (I want to stay where I am.) I was wondering if I would have to be a dentist of some sort in order to make dentures. I really want to do it but I don’t want to go to dental school to be a prosthodontist.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

You dont actually, my mom has a degree in English and actually works in a lab making dentures. WHat she did was someone in a lab needed help and was willing to train people my mom was someone of trust and so he taught her how to do it and she now works full time with him.

He is the best at it here in massachsetts and makes a lot of money and no college education either, there are plenty of technical schools for it but you could actually just find a lab and ask someone to teach you, you could offer free labor in exchange or cheap labor idk work it out.
    Good luck

The dentist takes the imprints and the dental lab makes the dentures. See if their is a dental lab in your area and apply for a job. It’s usually on the job training.
